J.S. (Jen Selby) Furlong is an author, and actor. Raised in the Washington, D.C. professional theatre, Jen's first published book was a LARP guide to playing truly evil bad guys: Antagonists for Mind's Eye Theatre, for Vampire: The Masquerade from White Wolf Publishing. She is the author of the Unimaginables Series, the Meredith series, and Mrs. Cheesely Loves Cheese. She co-wrote a modern theatrical circus with Neil Gaiman, played a tiny but pivotal role in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and is a graduate of Duke Ellington School of the Arts and the University of Mary Washington. She attended Ithaca College and the British Academy of Dramatic Arts at Oxford University. Jen's teenaged heroines struggle with truth, possibility and who they are. Now a mother to four teenagers, Jen writes and edits books that teens, tweens and adult lovers of YA will enjoy.

  • Director of Acquisitions, Editor

Tabitha has a B.A. in English and Religious Studies with a focus in journalism. She specializes in editing nonfiction but will happily take all queries. She has served as a researcher on Capitol Hill, a K-12 English teacher, and an Editorial Board Member for several research journals. She lives with her husband, dog and rescued kitten in a 200 year old renovated tavern.

  • Lead Editor, Education Director

Deborah came to MPC with a decade of editing experience. She excels at strengthening the author’s authentic voice while providing a collaborative experience that leaves writers feeling empowered and their writing refined. When she’s not editing, Deborah enjoys reading across genres, regenerative farming, homeschooling, fitness, and coaching women on dietary wellness.

  • Editor, Education

Emilie has a B.A. in English Literature and M.A. in Teaching Secondary Education. She specializes in YA, fantasy, and mystery/thriller fiction, but is open to all queries. She has served as a middle and high school English teacher for the last twelve years. She loves coffee and tea, her cats, swimming, and running.

  • Copy Editing, Proofreading

Jet’s interest in publishing started in high school when she helped found the school’s literary magazine. Having fallen in love with copy editing at her college newspaper, where she became Senior Copy Editor, Jet is excited to help make your manuscript word-perfect. She’s also a potter who can often be found selling her wares at Renaissance festivals.

  • Roane Furlong is an artist, actress, and musician. She illustrated her first published book at age 15 and is currently expanding her skill set into cover design and photography. Roane enjoys a wide variety of fine art styles such as watercolor, graphite/colored pencil, acrylic, and digital art.

  • Layout, Internal Design

A lifelong artist and graphic designer of over 13 years, Destini Richlin has always experienced very immersive and intense dreams - probably a side effect of a creative mind. She wrote her first book, The Dream Submarine, using her technique to fall back to sleep after an intense dream or nightmare - made easy to follow and accessible for younger dreamers. Her art background created a unique visual for the book, with colourful rainbow bubbles and deep jewel tones for readers to enjoy. She plans to expand the book into a series of kid's books to explain complicated concepts of the mind and mental health to kids and is currently working on her first fiction novel.

  • Marketing Director

Emily is originally from Michigan but now resides in Northern Virginia. She lives with her family and a parrot who is the provider of copious vocabulary words, some of which should be used sparingly. Emily spent decades in the IT Industry working for Fortune 500 companies before changing her focus to publishing. She brings her wealth of experience across all industries to MPC.
